Promoting Smart Agriculture in Schools
Drip Irrigation System Installed at Chandraapuram Maha Vidyalayam, Chavakacheri
đź“Ť Location: Jff/Chandraapuram Maha Vidyalayam, Chavakacheri | Northern Province, Sri Lanka
Step Toward Water-Efficient, Climate-Smart Agriculture
AGRO PLUS (PVT) LTD proudly announces the successful completion of a drip irrigation system installation for 85 mango plants at Chandraapuram Maha Vidyalayam, Chavakacheri.
This milestone project highlights our commitment to promoting water-efficient and climate-smart agriculture in Sri Lanka, particularly through educational institutions. By introducing modern drip irrigation technology, the school can now provide accurate, controlled watering to every mango plant — minimizing wastage, improving plant health, and conserving precious water resources.
The drip irrigation system also reduces labour and saves time, allowing school staff to manage the orchard more effectively while ensuring continuous growth and productivity throughout the year.
🌾 Inspiring the Next Generation of Smart Farmers
This project goes beyond installation — it’s an investment in the future of agriculture in Sri Lanka. Through this initiative, we had the opportunity to introduce and promote smart agriculture in schools, giving students first-hand experience with modern, sustainable farming methods.
By seeing how micro irrigation systems work, students learn valuable lessons about water conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable food production. This hands-on learning approach inspires young minds to appreciate farming as a science, a business, and a responsibility to the environment.
At AGRO PLUS, we believe that creating awareness and practical exposure in schools is the first step toward cultivating future-ready farmers and innovators who can lead Sri Lanka toward a greener, smarter agricultural future.
